Pak Ali Bukan Tamak

Pari Pari: Inikah kapak kamu?
Pak Ali: Tidak

.Pari Pari pun menyelam dan kembali bersama kapak emas.

Pari Pari: Inikah kapak kamu?
Pak Ali: Tidak, kapak aku buruk sahaja.

Pari pari pun menyelam dan kembali bersama kapak buruk.

Pari Pari: Inikah kapak kamu?
Pak Ali: Ya, itulah kapak buruk aku.

Pak Ali susahhati. Maka datanglah Pari Pari Tasik kepada Pak Ali.

Pari Pari: Kenapa kau bersedih?
Pak Ali: Isteriku jatuh ke dalam tasik.

Pari Pari pun menyelam dan kembali bersama Angelina Jolie.

Pari Pari: Inikah isteri kau?
Sambil menangis Pak Ali menjawab... "ya, itulah isteriku..."

Pari Pari pun marah, "Sungguh ku tak sangka, kau yang jujur satu masa dulutelah menjadi tamak".

Sambil menahan pilu Pak Ali menjawab, "Aku bukan tamak, kalau aku kata'tidak' pada Angelina Jolie... kau akan bawakan pula Pamela Lee...kalau aku katakan 'tidak' juga, barulah kau bawakan isteriku..bila aku kata'ya', kau akan berikan mereka bertiga padaku... Aku yang miskin ni tak mampu tanggung mereka semua".

What Difference Stages of Social Life Make

Just sitting at Taurean right now.
Bored to hell. Got out of work early not realising that most people are at work or are going back to work at this time of the day. Damn. Just when I'm starting to lepak again.

I realise that I need to rethink my lepak time but the problem is, our free time are different now that most of us are working. Those under the government work at different times than those in the private sector, which means that their free times are different. Then, there's those within the sector itself. Different places of work have different time slots. When one person is free doesn't mean that the other is. It might be easy to find time for your friends before life at work but once you get different schedules from your friends, it's not that easy to find the time.

Then there's the differences between each social life. A single person might be able to find the free time to meet his or her friend at anytime they want but someone with a girlfriend might be in a fixed schedule, trying to divide their time between their friends and their special someone. If you are married, it's a whole different story. You might be able to find the time for your friends but it is still limited as your time isn't just divided among your friends and your husband or wife, it is also divided for both sides of the family as well as your responsibility as a husband or a wife. Then there's someone with kids. This has got to be the hardest time to divide. The responsibility and commitment is overwhelming. Trying to find time for others might be harder than ever before. Dividing it between your friends, you family, your work and your interest is one hell of a task.

So, what is the solution? What are your solutions?

This is why, I guess, gathering occasions as they grow older so you can meet those people you used to meet all the time in the past just to make up lost times.

So, who's up to making one?

The Work Zone

It's been a freaking long day.
I had a full morning, mostly dealing with our Newsletter since John left and I was in charge of distributing them (which I'm not even sure how it works yet). And then I had to rush my break because I was out late.

At lunch, we had a relaxing time with the department watching this Australian show but followed by intense work on entering and updating records as well as preparing my laptops for tomorrow. By the time i was done with everything, it was 4pm.

I spent over an hour on the road thanks to the heavy traffic and by the time I got home, it was 5. I took a short rest then I had to get ready for our BADS meeting. Off for a quick dinner, went to the BADS meeting, got home, dealt with some extra work that I didn't get to finish in the afternoon and now here I am, sharing what seems like my daily life since... I don't know.

Seriously, why do I put myself to work so much?

During my holiday, at the back of my head was work, work, work before anything started. Then enter Paris, I completely forgot about back home - and I automatically changed to this free guy who has no commitments back home.

Then I got back home, I automatically changed back to where I left off. It's like, Brunei is all about work for me.

Am I making any sense?
Nevermind, it's midnight and if I don't sleep now, I'll only have less then 5 hours of sleep. I should go before I start saying things which you guys probably won't want to know... or stuff I don't want any of you to know.

Goodnight.

One Long Summary

I've been busy with a lot of things lately. Not just with work but trying to promote my two websites, namely shutterspeech.com and brugamers.com. Lately, I've spent my time mostly on brugamers.com since I'm basically done with the layout for shutter speech, though I do need to update the gallery now. Now, I just wanna get back to posting stuff here.

I'll blog more once I find the time but right now, I'm posting a summary of what I've been up to.

I went to Paris for the holiday, met a couple of people, ate lotsa crepes, took lots of photos (which I'll update soon in Shutter Speech's gallery) and...

...saw a guy crossdressing in a french maid costume at the Eiffel.

Then I met my sister in Cheltenham, got to see her place and where she studies and shops.

Next, went to Cardiff to relive the days when JuLeZz and I first went on our first date... and where it all happened with The Exclusives stuff.

Oh, met cute little Maisarah too - Shar's hyperactive daughter.

Then JuLeZz and I went back to London and hung out at places we first met, again reliving those "old" days. We also watched Into The Hoods and Wicked (above photo) at the theatres.

Got back to Brunei and then it was all work.

Started building and promoting BruGamers.com intensively... well, depends on what you think intensive means. I was hard at work.

After which I've spent most of my days at work updating records, books and then there were the workshops - at one time, I had two in one day.

We are also currently in the middle of starting a society, which I cannot reveal just yet. And I'm the Chairperson and JuLeZz is the Co-Chairperson.

We are also in the middle of rehearsals for BADS (Brunei Amateur Drama Society) and we've been meeting up every week for that - except for occasions where we're either tired with work or we just can't make it due to other commitments.

Then there's my mom's birthday celebration on 16th July (will upload photos soon in my multiply album). JuLeZz and I got her SPA treatment "voucher". I say "voucher" because they don't make vouchers, they gave it to us in the form of a receipt. But mom loved it.

JuLeZz and I, with contributions from Mimi and Anih, got my mom a birthday cake too. Oh, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY MOM!

There you go. A very relaxing post. Nothing too intense but just a simple (but long) summary of everything. I don't think I missed much.

Also, I would like to take this opportunity to wish my uncle & aunt for their new baby (I got a new cousin!) born on July 14. Then there's also Zyreen who has a new baby girl on July 15!

Right, I think that's pretty much it.
Until the next real post.

When You Get What You Wish For

So it was a nice dinner with the family, but before that we (me, lovely hubby, and sibs-in-laws) went around The Mall in search of my perfect top. Well, either I have imagined that top before, or it just doesn't exist in The Mall's branch, but the point is, the top wasn't there.

Disappointed, I set out to look for a pair of stilettos I have just recently set my heart out to get.

Disappointed, they don't have my size anymore. *sigh*

But there was still light. Dropped by my dear friend's shop and found something I have always wanted to get for so long now. So at least I went out beaming a tiny bit.

Walked into shops, not harbouring thoughts of actually purchasing anything anymore. But I was meant to end the night in sheer joy despite my disappointments with the stilettos. Window-shopped and saw a bag I thought was absolutely gorgeous. I left the store telling Syaf "Will get that soon! =)"

How was I supposed to know that the bag would be in my hands a few hours later, presented to me after dinner, as a surprise (belated) First Year Anniversary present!!!!! Waaaahhhhh-weeeeeeeeeeeeeee~

To my lovely husband, thank you for the wonderful surprise. You are the best!!! I love you!!!

Walking Down Memory Lane

I must be a sucker for nostalgia and love the past, otherwise I just live in memories of the past, or ... wait, I don't think I'm making sense.

But anyway, we are back in Brunei and the trip to the country where we first met was fantastic! Of course, it rained the first few days, but the weather improved.

Went to Paris, of course that was a whole different story altogether.

Went to Cheltenham to meet Mimi and visit her boarding house.
Then went to Cardiff to visit Shar.

Went back to London during the last few days of our trip. Food was great, didn't shop much, went around the bus and saw other sides of London that we hardly went through (funny story about that, to be told soon). Saw musicals, yes, plural, and they were great!

But most importantly, we went to Hyde Park, where we first met.

We went to Cardiff, where our love story unfolds and develops.

Then we went back to London, where we had spent a day together before saying goodbye on that fateful summer(night?).

We went back, and we will again. For we cannot resist the tempting invitation of the place that created and brings so many memories for me, for him and for us. The place where 'The Exclusives' first started...

GHIII DragonForce 100%

I don't know if you guys have seen this but I was reading joystiq and saw a post on this guy who played Guitar Hero III's hardest song and completed it 100%. The song? It's rather obvious to GHIII's fans, DragonForce's Through The Fires and The Flames.

I have got to congratulate this guy. He obviously spends a lot of time on GH. Not a lot of people can do that. Maybe I should quit my day job and try to get 100% too.

The Empire Winner

JuLeZz AND I CELEBRATED OUR 1 YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY on the 18th of May at The Manggis Ballroom. It was such a grand celebration. There was a fashion show for kids, talent show for the teens and some other games to cater the rest of the age groups.

One of the best parts of the day was the Grand Lucky Draw which included a night stay at the Empire Hotel, a TV, dinner for two at the Empire Hotel Pantai restaurant, high tea for two at the Empire Lobby and a wall clock.

Yesterday, we got to see the winner of the Empire Hotel night stay at the hotel itself! We were invited to join the fun - though briefly. The winners invited the rest of our family members as well to join in the fun! Check out some photos here at shutterspeech.com's gallery!

Senja Nan Merah

Masihkah kita termangu di bawah pepohon itu
Ketika hujan melunturi danau yang terusang
Tidak pernah dibilang hari
Hanyalah debar yang terasa… terasa

Setiap hari dibuai mimpi yang terindah
Dengan menghitung senja merah dihujung sinar
Mencipta kebeningan rahsia
Pada sehimpun kenangan
Menyimpul satu makna
Di ruang yang lurus ini

Haruskah…
Kita mencari pada gunung dan lurah
Liku-liku curam insani
Haruskah…
Kita mencari puncak mengilau cahaya
Dalam hidup seribu warna

Dibawah teriring ungkapan
Pada sebuah wajah
Yang lara kesepian
Haruskah kita mencari suatu
Senja dalam kepedihan

(#)
Haruskah…
Kita mencari dalam senja begini
Kembali kita bertemu

Haruskah (haruskah)…
Kita mencari dalam simpati wangi
Kembali kita bersama

Membilang kenangan yang abadi
Seperti menuggu mentari senja
Menghilang perlahan-lahan disebalik
Awan yang merah

(repeat #)

Dibalik awan yang merah
Dibalik awan yang merah
Dibalik awan yang merah

PS: Song's been in my head ever since JuLeZz's uncles played it at their gig during her cousin's wedding celebration, JuLeZz sang it and I was determined to try it out since I've listened to it before. And damn, now my voice is going away. Great song though.

Poll: Do You Notice Advertisements?

I was reading the newspaper earlier this morning and while doing that, someone pointed out a huge ad on the same page that took a third of the page's space. I asked myself, "how in the world did I miss that?" Then I realised that I don't really notice nor do I care about ads, be it on the newspaper or blogs but then I put up adverts on my blogs. It made me think, how well do ads work? And how many really attract the eyes of readers? Don't get me wrong, some ads catch my eyes but only the good ones.

So I thought, for the sake of a simple research, I'd put up a universal poll on all my blogs and ask you guys to vote if you notice them at all. So where ever you are reading this post from, your vote will count on my other blogs. Thanks for voting!

Comments below as usual.

Annoying Posts by Bloggers

Hello to whatever is left of my readers,

I am here to update. Hopefully more frequent.

I am also here to complain.

People who blog with lots of dots such as "see... the other day i was... yknow... yeah... haha!" annoy the hell out of me. People who call everyone peps annoy me. People who spell with wif as who are clearly 20+ years old can make my brain explode (No! You don't sound cute!). Seriously, do none of you go to school? Cousin is not spelt with c u z n. Paragraphs are not filled with a million continuous dots. And peps just sounds so bloody retarded.

But you know what annoys me the most? A blogger trying to describe something but is not making sense at all with his or her words plus using all of the above garbage. These people need to go back to school and learn proper English.
